Maldives Marketing & Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) is all prepped to take their marketing front up a scale, by promoting the Maldives at two consecutive activities. With a focus given to reach the French market, MMPRC took part in the 2022 edition of French Travel Market (IFTM) Top Resa and broadened their approach in the market through a dedicated Roadshow in France.
The roadshow was held in the romantic capital of Paris, at Le 28 George V along with 13 industry partners. The aim of the roadshow was re-position and solidify the French market as one of the top source markets for the Maldives. Moreover, the roadshow paved way for strengthening relationships between potential affluent travel agents and industry partners from the Maldives.
While the roadshow was underway, MMPRC and 27 industry partners were participating in the IFTM Top Resa 2022 held in Porte de Versailles. The IFTM Top Resa 2022 is a multi-purpose trade show for tourism and travel, covering different segments such as business, leisure, group & MICE. The B2B event took place over two days and provided good business opportunities, improved returns on investment and networking to qualified travel buyers, influencers and market professionals.
These two con-current events fall under MMPRC’s marketing strategy for the French market. By conducting such activities MMPRC strives to place Maldives as the most preferred destination in the French market while still maintain destination presence. Through this, they hope to achieve the pre-pandemic arrival numbers for the market.
Areas targeted in the marketing include advertising the main products of tourism as well as the different segments available in the Maldives. Additionally, the geographical distribution of islands entitling privacy, luxury and exclusive experience are highlighted while promoting the destination. Furthermore, MMPRC also facilitates industry partners to showcase their properties, products and services via these events.
34,120 visitors arrived from France as of 24th August 2022, placing the French market at the 7th rank in the charts. MMPRC was able to achieve this by hosting several activities including social media campaigns, digital media advertising campaigns and partaking in fairs and exhibitions.
