Qatar Airways Wins ‘Airline of The Year’ For The 7th Time At Skytrax Awards

The world-renowned airline, Qatar Airways has been named the ‘Airline of the Year’ by Skytrax for the seventh time! Qatar Airways won the coveted title at a ceremony held in London yesterday. The airline also bagged three more accolades at the Awards, completing a successful year in the skies while commemorating 25 years of service.

Skytrax is an international air transport rating organization and the prestigious Skytrax Awards are deemed as the earmark of excellence and distinction in the airline industry. At this year’s edition of the awards, Qatar Airways won in the categories Worlds’ Best Business Class, World’s Best Business Class Lounge Dining and Best Airline in the Middle East. The airline has previously won the ‘Airline of the Year’ in 2011, 2012, 2015, 2017, 2019 and 2021.

The premium cabin of the airline, highlighting the esteemed Qsuite was voted as the World’s Best Business Class for the sixth consecutive time. Distinguishing the delectable culinary excellence of Al Mourjan lounge, the airline was awarded the World’s Best Business Class Lounge Dining title as well. Moreover, Qatar Airways was able to receive the Best Airline in the Middle East- a testimony to the airline’s reputation for excellence and extensive global network while being positioned in a highly competitive region in the industry.

The Skytrax Awards are given based on observations spanning 12 months between September 2021 to August 2022. Over 14 million eligible entries are counted in the results and Qatar Airways was able to expand its global network back to 150 countries during the period.
