MMPRC Signs MOU with ADK to Promote Medical Tourism Offerings of Maldives

The Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC), also known as Visit Maldives, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with ADK Hospital to promote medical tourism in the country. The agreement, signed on December 12, 2024, was finalized at MMPRC's headquarters by Mr. Ibrahim Shiuree, CEO and Managing Director of MMPRC, and Mr. Ahmed Afaal, Managing Director of ADK Hospital.

In his statement, Mr. Shiuree emphasized the importance of the collaboration in diversifying the Maldives’ tourism sector. “The Maldives has long been synonymous with luxury and leisure. By diversifying our tourism offerings to include medical tourism, we are not only strengthening our position as a global travel destination but also contributing to the development of healthcare infrastructure in the Maldives. This MoU with ADK Hospital marks an important milestone in realising the Government's vision for a more diversified tourism sector.” he said.

Mr. Afaal highlighted the significance of the partnership for the Maldives’ health tourism sector. "Today marks a significant milestone in our commitment to elevate the Maldives as a destination for medical tourism. By partnering with MMPRC, we aim to capitalize on the Maldives' pristine natural beauty, world-class healthcare facilities, and renowned hospitality to attract patients seeking high-quality medical care. We are confident that this initiative will not only benefit the health tourism sector but also contribute to the overall economic growth of the Maldives." he stated.
