A digital and print advertising campaign with well-known German lifestyle magazine Falstaff has been launched by Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC / Visit Maldives). Starting in June 2022 and lasting three months, from July to August, this campaign will be run.
Falstaff is a German lifestyle publication that offers the ideal balance of style and factual information about food, drink, and travel. In conjunction with Falstaff, MMPRC is promoting the Maldives as a top vacation spot in their print and digital magazines, which have a combined circulation of 100,000 copies worldwide. The magazines are available in English and German.
Affluent travelers will be the target audience of MMPRC's advertising campaign with Falstaff, which aims to carry out a campaign for content that will motivate and sway their choices. By collaborating with a prestigious publication like Falstaff, the Maldives' brand visibility in the area is enhanced. Additionally, the campaign's online and offline elements ensure that the Maldives will have a broad reach in three distinct markets in this area: Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.
The campaign also calls attention to the Maldives' individual resorts, guesthouses, hotels, and liveaboards. The campaign is in line with MMPRC’s plan to keep this destination prominent in the area and effectively market different travel niches. With the help of this strategy, the destination hopes to see an increase in bookings and visitors from Germany, Austria, and Switzerland in the future.
In 2021, the Maldives welcomed over 1.3 million tourists, 94,784 of whom were from Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. With 62,950 Arrivals as of the 8th of June 2022, the German market ranked fourth among the top-performing sources of visitors to the Maldives this year. To maintain destination presence and boost arrivals from these nations, MMPRC has been holding a number of events.
This includes joint marketing initiatives with Condor, FTI, TUI Austria, and TUI Germany. MMPRC also took part in events like IMEX 2022, IMM, and ITB Berlin. This market will see a number of additional exciting marketing initiatives this year, including destination e-learning campaigns, digital and social media marketing initiatives, and a roadshow for the Maldives in Germany.
MMPRC, the organization in charge of promoting the Maldives as a travel destination abroad, engaged in 260 distinct marketing activities in 22 international markets in the past year, including trade shows, roadshows, familiarization tours, marketing campaigns, webinars, and interviews. The Maldives won the title of "World's Leading Destination" at the 2021 World Travel Awards, which are regarded as the gold standard of the travel industry, late last year, which is the greatest testament to the success of MMPRC's initiatives. The Maldives have successfully attained this prestigious title for the second year in a row, which is a shining example of the confidence that tourists from all over the world have in the "magic of Maldivian hospitality."
