The award-winning 5-star resort, Sheraton Maldives Full Moon has announced the appointment of Mohamed El Aghoury as their new General Manager. With over two decades of experience in the hospitality industry, El Aghoury has worked with several esteemed hotelier brands in the world in various different markets. As he assumes his new role, he will be leading and overseeing the entire operations at the scenic Maldivian property of the Sheraton Hotels & Resorts chain.
Apart from helming the resort operations, El Aghoury will be supervising Full Moon’s strategic commercial plans to further augment the resort’s positioning in the competitive market and showcase the destination as a place where the world comes together. Through his adept skills and leadership qualities, he will guide and inspire the team to constantly achieve the highest grade of service excellence in their work.
With a wealth of experience spanning 25 years, El Aghoury initially began his hospitality career in 1993 at Sheraton Montazah Hotel, Alexandria. He landed his first role as general manager 18 years later in 2011- a position that he filled in numerous world-renowned hospitality brands in the UAE. This includes stepping as the General Manager at Four Points, Al Sondos Suites by Le Meridien, Meydan Hotel and Bab Al Shams Desert Resort. Before joining the team at Full Moon, his last posting has been at Sheraton Jumeirah Beach Resort and Aloft Palm Jumeirah where he held the prestigious position of Cluster General Manager.
Owing to his exceptional leadership throughout his career, El Aghoury has been the recipient of numerous accolades and titles. The most notable titles include being recognized in the coveted Hotelier MEA’s Top 50 General Manager Power List in the UAE and winning the Best General Manager award presented by the Luxury Lifestyle Awards. Additionally, he is also the proud recipient of the Hospitality Excellence Awards’ General Manager of the Year.
