Gourmet Week
The iconic gourmet week returned to the shores of Cocoon Maldives for a second time from 12th December to 16th December 2022. The event was hosted by the Corporate Chef, Giovanni De Ambrosis with guest Chef, Silvia Baracchi- the owner of II Falconiere, a Michelin-starred establishment in Cortona, Italy. With inherited roots for sensitivity to traditions and hospitality from her family, Chef Silvia is a true Etruscan who is immensely passionate about creating good food for her guests.
In the scenic settings of the numerous restaurants and bars home to the Cocoon Maldives, Chef Silvia indulged guests in an epicurean list of activities. She opened with a cooking demo at the Loabi Loabi Bar which was followed by two gastronomical showcases at the main restaurant, Octopus. The gourmet week was concluded with a culinary finale at Manta restaurant where Chef Silvia whipped up an appetizing 4-course dinner for the dedicated guests.
The Cocoon Collection Lounge
For guests planning to vacation at Cocoon Maldives and You & Me Maldives, the Cocoon Collection brings glad tidings with the opening of its unique lounge at the new Seaplane Terminal, Noovilu. The lounge adds to the most recent offerings of the 5-star luxury brand’s hospitality experience by providing a pleasant ambience for guests to relax in between their travels. An extension of the opulent journey promised by the Cocoon brand, guests can make use of the lounge before reaching the resorts, and after check-out till the international flight departure.
The 280 sqm airport lounge is equipped with a customer service desk, an 85-capacity seating area and free internet Wi-Fi. Moreover, guests will be served a myriad of refreshments at the lounge as well. The Cocoon Collection airport representative team will be ready to assist at Velana International Airport Counter C14 and on the 1st floor 1-L-08 of Noovilu Seaplane Terminal.

Abdulla Anish – Operating Manager of You & Me Maldives
Initially joining the team as a resort butler in January 2019, Anish has since then climbed up the ranks to fill roles like Front Office Manager before assuming his most recent position.
A jack of all trades, Anish has shown his competency in several areas including basic engineering, boat driving, advanced first aid, search and rescue, emergency response and disaster management and firefighting. His impressive resume of skills further augments his excellence in the operational field and solidifies his motto as a ‘ready to assist’ individual.
Ahmed Rasheed – Talents & Culture Manager of Cocoon Maldives
Since joining the Human Resources department team back in May 2017, Ahmed Rasheed has excelled in his hospitality career. Hailing from the neighbouring island of Olhuvelifushi, he is a visionary leader who motivates his team members and empowers them to develop their skills and build their careers and has been a constant role model for the young minds at the resort.
Despite his busy schedule, Ahmed Rasheed finds free time to play football and is a skilled player who has shown his adept skills in various friendly matches and competitions with a collection of trophies to prove his worth.
