Tourist arrivals to the Maldives are rebounding as the country recovers from the COVID-19 pandemic. Maldives as a country has achieved our goal of one million tourists’ arrivals on October 29th, 2021.
By the end of November 2021, overall arrivals to Maldives had risen to 1.16 million, a 150 percent increase over the previous year making it a remarkable recovery. As of November 30th, 2021, the daily average arrivals remained above 4,800.
While big markets such as Russia and India recovered completely, with significant positive growth rates, new markets emerged in Europe and the Middle East.
As of November 30th, 2021, the top ten source markets for Maldives were India (22.5 percent), Russia (17.7 percent), Germany (7.2 percent), the United States (4.2 percent), the United Kingdom (4.0 percent), Saudi Arabia (3.2 percent), Spain (2.9 percent), Ukraine (2.7 percent), France (2.1 percent), and Switzerland (1.9 percent).
