In a ceremony held on November 16th, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Studies, MNU and seven of Marriott International Resorts in Maldives. The MOU intends to help students and staff at both institutions enhance their capabilities by providing internship opportunities for students and training and educational opportunities for personnel.
The MOU signing symbolizes the significant step towards enhancing the existing relations between Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Studies (FHTS) and the tourism industry towards human capacity development.
At the ceremony, the Vice Chancellor of Maldives National University, Mohamed Shareef and the respective General Managers of the seven Marriott Bonvoy Portfolio of resorts in the Maldives.
“Through this collaboration, it is our hope that the youths of the Maldives are not only equipped with skills, but are poised to be on the forefront of successful careers in the industry” said Rivero Delgado, Marriott International Area Vice President for Singapore, Malaysia and Maldives in a statement.
