The International Media Marketplace Conference is a networking platform for journalists and PR professionals of global tourism industry to connect together. Being the only platform that does so, the 2021 event kicked off virtually on June 16, 2021.
The Managing Director of Visit Maldives, Mr. Thoyyib Mohamed graced the opening press conference at the event and delivered the keynote speech. He shared the recovery story of Maldives during the pandemic, changes observed in key markets, activities conducted by Visit Maldives, how Maldives managed to stay open and the future of the Maldivian tourism industry moving forward.
“We believe our success is attributable to the stringent safety measures in place, the natural socially-distanced islands and the hard work and effort of all stakeholders in the tourism industry and health authorities.” Mr. Thoyyib stated. “From the pandemics onset, The Maldivian government placed an utmost importance on the health, safety, and wellbeing of travelers and locals alike.”
In this conference, Visit Maldives connected with key media to share the latest destination information and travel guidelines, strengthen brand presence, as well as promote Maldives as a safe haven for post-pandemic travel. Delegates from travel and tourism brands and top travel journalists participated in press conferences, panel sessions and breakout networking sessions.
