On a Mission to Give His Team Purpose, Haanif To Lead as Cluster L&D Architect at Sun Siyam Resorts

In any organization, the Learning & Development department works as a support department that ensures all team members are well equipped to perform tasks to their level best. At Sun Siyam Group, the responsibility lies in the hands of Haanif Abdullah, the newly appointed Cluster Leaning & Development Architect, and his team.

Haanif has been honing his skills at Sun Siyam Iru Fushi since mid-2021, creating an engaging learning culture at the resort. He has successfully led members of different departments to enjoy taking part in training initiatives, learn while on the job, and adapt their mindset to learn from anywhere, any time.

In his new role, Haanif is currently training the line team at Siyam World. Working along with a diverse cluster L&D team, he hopes to bring learning to life, and ensure that all members undergo training as required to level up their game and perform flawless excellence on their job.

Trainings should be short, yet effective. It should prompt a behavioral change in the participant’s prime objective – which I believe is ‘to help keep the guest’,” explains Haanif.

He designs every training and learning session to give participants a purpose. Considering every position in all departments as an important job, proven results can only be guaranteed with creative ways to motivate the task force.

Haanif appreciates the immense support from the group in accepting the L&D initiatives. He credits the positive change to every team member who implemented his learnings from the training to providing professional excellence in the service. In times to come, L&D will expand into providing enhanced guest experiences, such as quiz nights, language classes, and more, says Haanif.
