Passport Application Available from Maldives’ Islands

Maldives Immigrations has introduced a new service ‘Rashun’ that enables residents in islands to apply for passports without travelling to Malé City. Difficulties in passport application have been a constant complaint of Maldivians, especially those living in islands and find it hard to travel to Malé. Now, they no longer need to take the trouble as Immigrations is cooperating with island and atoll councils to provide passport application service throughout the whole country.

The service first commenced in Thaa Atoll. Passport application can be done through Thaa.Veymandoo council. If required documents have been filled and provided, the passport will be done within 48 official hours. This service will expand to all the atolls in the country.
