Patina Maldives is set to host a bold new culinary collaboration, blending refined Italian cuisine and inventive mixology in a two-day pop-up event on April 24 and 25, 2025.
The exclusive experience brings together Michelin-starred Chef Luciano Monosilio — often called Italy’s “King of Carbonara” — and the dynamic team from Veleno Bar, an underground favourite from Vienna known for its creative, sustainable cocktails.
Chef Luciano, who earned his Michelin star at just 27, is celebrated for reinventing Roman classics with a contemporary twist. His famed carbonara has become a modern icon at his restaurant, Luciano Cucina Italiana in Rome. His visit to Patina reflects the resort’s continued focus on curated, meaningful dining experiences that balance technique and soul.
The event opens Thursday evening at Farine, with a welcome cocktail hour showcasing Veleno’s bespoke drinks and canapés crafted by Chef Luciano. As the sun sets, guests can enjoy a semi-buffet dinner where Luciano’s signature dishes are folded into Farine’s seasonal Italian-inspired menu.
On Friday, the culinary immersion deepens with a hands-on Carbonara Cooking Class at Koen, limited to just 12 guests. The session includes a personalised mocktail and dessert pairing, offering an intimate look into one of Rome’s most beloved dishes.
Meanwhile, Veleno Bar will lead a private cocktail masterclass at Fari Beach Club for Patina’s own F&B team, sharing their sustainable approach and creative techniques.
The two-day event closes with one final dinner at Farine, celebrating collaboration, flavour, and shared stories around the table.
Dinner starts at USD 155++, and the cooking class is USD 150++ per person.
