Pics Don't Lie! Shakira and Piqué Enjoy Glitzy Getaway in Waldorf Astoria Maldives
Maldives has often been regarded as a sought-after dream destination for celebrities who are looking for ultimate privacy and premium luxury hospitality. Waldorf Astoria Ithaafushi is a luxury resort in the Maldives with its white sandy beaches, vibrant cyan-blue waters and dazzling coral reefs. The resort is a favourite for many celebrities and as of August 18th this year, the resort welcomed “Waka Waka” star Shakira and her family.
FC Barcelona midfielder Gerard Piqué and his pop-rocker partner, Shakira, have fired up their social media of their luxury break in the Maldives, where they are winding down, before their turbulent routines kick off again in September. Shakira highlights on her Instagram that the Maldives is one of the sweetest places in the world, and shares many of the sweet moments that she spent with her family.
One of the cutest moments were her family giving the “oohs” and “aahs” for just a tiny crab on the sand. Gerard Pique, the singer’s boyfriend, picked up the crab for the kids to get a better look, leading her to write the caption “It seems to me that my family hasn’t seen many crabs in their lives. I’ve got to take them to the beach more often”. The Maldives is well known for its marine life, and especially for crabs! So, we are guessing Shakira’s family needs a little more exploring – Maldivian style!
Gerard also encountered a sea turtle, to which he quickly made friends with and the turtle was also up and away on his Instagram. If only you could make friends with a celebrity that easy!
A final, heart-warming photo captioned by Gerard as “Family time” showed a picture of the couple and their two sons in a scenic view. We are hoping the dazzling family will have some time-off again in Maldives.
