On November 19th, Qatar Airways' inaugural flight from Doha to Almaty, Kazakhstan, landed at Almaty International Airport, launching the airline's newest gateway in Central Asia!
The Airbus A320 aircraft, Flight QR0391, was welcomed with an opening ceremony attended by The Qatar Ambassador to Kazakhstan, Abdulaziz Sultan Al-Rumaihi, The Qatar Airways Senior Vice President Eastern Regions, Marwan Koleilat, The Chairman of Kazakhstan's Aviation Committee, Talgat Lastayev, President of Almaty International Airport, Alp Er Tunga Ersoy and a host of airport and government officials from Kazakhstan.
The Airbus A320 aircraft will conduct the new direct flights to Almaty, with 12 seats in Business Class and 120 seats in Economy Class.
Passengers flying to Kazakhstan will have access to Oryx One, Qatar Airways' in-flight entertainment system, which includes the latest blockbuster movies, TV box sets, music, games, and more.
Expressing his enthusiasm over the new addition to the airlines route, the Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive stated that the direct flights to Almaty reflects the close relationship between the State of Qatar and Kazakhstan.
He also emphasized on growing popularity among Almaty residents with Qatar’s services for both business and leisure purposes, attracting travelers who wish to enjoy its rich culture, cuisine and natural scenery.
