Qatar Executive welcomed its eighth Gulfstream G650ER aircraft, which flew from Georgia, USA to Doha, Qatar, using Sustainable Aviation Fuel certified by the FAA (SAF). With the delivery of this new state-of-the-art plane, the private jet charter service provider has cemented its position as the world's largest owner-operator of the Gulfstream G650ER ultra-long-range jet.
Due to its extraordinary range capabilities, industry-leading interior technology, fuel efficiency, and unsurpassed passenger comfort, the aircraft is one of the most prized jets among the global traveling elite. With a range of 7,500 nautical miles, the Qatar Executive Gulfstream G650ER can fly faster and for longer distances than any other jet of its class.
The Group Chief Executive of Qatar Airways, Akbar Al Baker expressed his joy being the first global business aviation operator to receive a delivery flight using Sustainable Aviation Fuel. This reiterates their leadership and commitment to collaborate with the industry for supporting the deployment of new technology, drive innovation and encourage the use of SAF at a commercial scale, affordable and certified.
This first aircraft delivery flight, using drop-in SAF, marks another milestone for Qatar Airways Group and reaffirms the company's leadership in operating one of the world's most modern fleets. Qatar Executive currently runs eight of the planes, with four more scheduled to arrive before the end of 2021. The executive charter service provider is also looking forward to receiving the brand-new Gulfstream G700 plane, which is capable of running with 100% SAF.
