Exciting news as Poland's flag carrier, LOT Polish Airlines, has resumed chartered service to the Maldives! On June 16, the airline resumed chartered flights between Warsaw, Poland and Velana International Airport (VIA) in which, flights are set to be operated once a week.
The airline will use Boeing-787 aircraft with a capacity of 290 passengers for the operation. Between January and March of this year, over 7,900 tourists from Poland visited the Maldives. When compared to the same period last year, this market has grown by an impressive 56%! With this resumption in place, the market is set to grow even further!
LOT was a founding member of IATA and is still one of the world's oldest airlines in operation. LOT Polish Airlines, with a fleet of 75 aircraft as of 2021, is the 18th largest operator in Europe, serving over 120 destinations in Europe, Asia, and North America.
