Reethi Beach Resort Marks Environment Week at Property

Last month, Reethi Beach Resort conducted an interactive and impactful Environment Week on the property, dedicated to creating environmental awareness and promoting sustainable practices among its guests, staff and local communities. The week-long event was held from 4-10 June 2023 and featured a wide range of activities and initiatives that encouraged environmental stewardship.

Throughout Environment Week, guests were invited to participate in numerous meaningful events such as beach clean-ups. By actively partaking in the preservation of the resort’s pristine shorelines, they were able to better understand the importance of keeping oceans and beaches clean and free of pollution. Similarly, engaging sessions on waste management were carried out for guests and staff at the resort. These interactive sessions emphasized the significance of recycling, reducing single-use plastics and composting and motivated participants to adopt eco-friendly practices in their everyday lives.

The scope of the awareness-raising program also extended to local schools. The resort management conducted educational workshops and seminars at neighbouring local schools. During these sessions, valuable insights on marine conservation, coral reef preservation and sustainable fishing practices were shared with students. Through these workshops, the resort empowered youth with knowledge and enabled them to make informed decisions that will help a positive impact on the environment.

Moreover, Reethi Beach Resort also organized a field visit from a local school to showcase and educate island communities about the property’s sustainability practices. This initiative hopes to incline young minds towards conservation and instill in them a sense of responsibility when it comes to the environment.
