Manta Air proudly announced their new addition to their fleet, a De Havilland DHC6 Twin Otter; MSN 552 has reached Velana International Airport after a couple of pit stops made along the way. The aircraft started its journey from Canada, pit-stopped at Greenland, Iceland and UAE before it reached the Maldives.
The Twin Otter – MSN 552 was in operation with Mobil Oil in Nigeria for over 19 years before it was reclaimed by the Rocky Mountain Aircraft in February 2020. The aircraft landed in Maldives with a new avionics package with all calendar maintenance completed. The removal of wheels and the installation of floats would be taken place at Manta Air’s base in Dhaalu Airport.
