You do not want to miss this chance to spot and swim with some of the most majestic creatures of the ocean. The Manta Rays are known to be sighted the most around late September as they make their pit stop to the cleaning stations in Lhaviyani Atoll.
A well-known spot for encountering these iconic rays is Fushifaru Thila. The rays float over the massive coral blocks, seemingly effortlessly, allowing the cleaner wrasse to feast on parasites in their gills and on their bodies, while our divers witness an amazing experience.
Mantas migrate to their feeding grounds on the western side of the atoll later in the season, usually around November, and aggregations of them inhabit the lagoons near Komandoo. Snorkelers and divers can expect encounters on a frequent basis through March or April, making Komandoo Resort the perfect destination around this time of year.
Although, we cannot promise sightings because the ocean is unpredictable and mantas are wild creatures with their own will, you will still have a very high opportunity at the proper time of year, especially if you join the team for scuba diving and snorkeling excursions as often as possible during your stay.
