Soneva Invested New PCR lab at Maafaru International Airport

Soneva, a leading luxury resort chain found in the Maldives by Sonu Shivdasani and his wife Eva Malmström Shivdasani, contracted ADK Trade and Shipping to establish a PCR lab at Maafaru International Airport in Noonu Atoll. The company has announced that the new lab is fully commissioned and ready for operation.

ADK revealed that the project undertaken for Soneva took 30 days to complete from ordering equipment, physical infrastructure construction to final set-up. The company operating Maafaru International Aiport, Island Aviation had informed regarding the establishment of a COVID19 testing lab at the airport on 17th of June.

Soneva, with two resorts in the island nation, continues its story with Soneva Jani in the Medhufaru lagoon in the Noonu Atoll. Inspired by a word that means ‘wisdom’ in Sanskrit, Soneva Jani encompasses a collection of Water Villas and Island Sanctuaries set within a lagoon of crystal clear waters, fringed by pristine beaches and blanketed in lush tropical greenery.

This investment by Soneva will benefit the tourism industry of Maldives, particularly the resorts & tourism facilities operating in the Noonu Atoll. In order to make Soneva’s private islands COVID-19 free, Soneva resorts also made changes to existing procedures, following best practices recommended by the US Centre for Disease Control (CDC) as well as numerous consultations with leading experts in both Virology and Infectious Diseases in the United States, Singapore, India and the United Kingdom.
