During late August, the popular Soneva Fushi revealed its new Water Retreats starting at 584 sqm./6,286 sqft, the largest in the world. These luxurious properties added another facet to the original barefoot luxury resort and introduced a thrilling dimension to the award-winning resort. Recently, the Water Retreats grabbed the Skift IDEA Award in Guest Room category.
The Skift IDEA Awards 2020 winners represent the innovations, design, and experiences defining the future of travel. Guests can expect innovative designs and some new changes to the iconic Water Retreat designs that can be found at Soneva Jani. The eight Water Retreats were designed to ensure the utmost privacy for guests, as well as to make the most of the picture-perfect ocean vistas.
The 1 Bedroom Water Retreats (584 sqm./6,286 sqft.) and 2 Bedroom Water Retreats (857 sqm./9,224 sqft.) features spacious interiors and exterior living spaces, making it an ideal accommodation for families and groups of travellers. It features rooms that can be sealed off, doors out onto the deck that can be locked, and the children’s room located at the back of the master bedroom are child-friendly and suitable for young Soneva guests of all ages.
What makes these beauties stand out from Soneva Jani’s water retreats is that these new overwater villas at Soneva Fushi are not whitewashed, so the browns of the natural and sustainable wood panels are visible through the interior finishing. And while the pool deck has been extended for more space for sun loungers and daybeds, the pool has been moved to the front of the pool deck, where it is now suspended over the ocean. The catamaran nets let guests sit above the waves, while curved steps lead from the pool deck to the water below. Can’t wait to experience it?
