Taj Exotica Resort & Spa, Maldives, proudly unveils the Maldives' largest operational floating solar park, marking a significant stride towards sustainable tourism. Developed in collaboration with Swimsol, a global leader in offshore marine photovoltaics, the 1,080 kWp solar park stands as a beacon of eco-conscious innovation in the archipelago.

Ms. Corinna Luebbe, Cluster General Manager of Taj Maldives, expressed her enthusiasm, stating, “Taj Exotica Resort & Spa is dedicated to redefining luxury with a sustainable approach. With the launch of this solar park, we are proud to significantly reduce our carbon footprint, aligning with our commitment to environmental conservation and the preservation of the Maldives' natural beauty.”

The SolarSea system, complemented by a battery storage solution, ensures uninterrupted renewable energy supply throughout the day. By harnessing solar power, the resort is estimated to save approximately 475,000 litres of diesel annually, resulting in a remarkable reduction of 1,200 tons of carbon emissions each year.

Martin Putschek, Managing Director of Swimsol, expressed his delight, remarking, “This achievement represents a significant milestone in our mission to facilitate sustainable energy solutions for island resorts in the Maldives. Taj Exotica Resort & Spa's commitment to sustainability and their collaboration with Swimsol exemplify a shared vision for a greener future.”

Nestled within Emboodhu Finolhu island, Taj Exotica Resort & Spa epitomizes environmental stewardship, boasting an EarthCheck Platinum certification—one of only two properties in the Maldives to achieve this prestigious recognition.
