Australian music icons The Cat Empire are heading to the Maldives in 2026 for a one-of-a-kind concert series set against the backdrop of white sand beaches and turquoise waters. Holiday Inn Resort Kandooma Maldives, in partnership with Music in Paradise, has announced an exclusive week-long musical getaway from 2–9 May 2026.

Known for their high-energy shows and genre-blending sound, The Cat Empire will perform three intimate sunset concerts at the resort, offering fans a rare chance to experience their music in a relaxed and immersive tropical setting.

With a career spanning more than two decades, The Cat Empire have built a loyal international following thanks to their unique mix of jazz, funk, Latin, ska, reggae, and rock. Their upcoming Maldives shows will feature performances ranging from laid-back beach sets to vibrant rooftop sessions at the resort’s Sunset Bar.

Beyond the music, guests will also enjoy artist meet-and-greets, behind-the-scenes moments, and a curated island experience that celebrates the spirit of connection and culture that defines the band.

“Hosting The Cat Empire is a dream come true for us and our guests,” said Mark Eletr, General Manager of Holiday Inn Resort Kandooma Maldives. “This is more than just a concert — it’s an immersive island experience that blends soul-stirring music with the natural beauty and hospitality of the Maldives.”

The performances will celebrate The Cat Empire’s 10th studio album, Bird in Paradise, a colourful, flamenco-inspired project rooted in spontaneity and joy. Featuring tracks like La Gracia, Blood on the Stage, and Doing Fine, the album captures the band’s global fusion style and marks a vibrant return to their musical roots.
