Whilst following the science by relaxing their COVID-19 arrival protocols from March 7th in line with the national and international easing of restrictions, combined with the high vaccination rate in the Maldives, Amilla Maldives no longer will no longer be offering complimentary PCR test on arrival, unless guests are traveling from a country with a particularly bad outbreak/case numbers.
Starting off the month of March strong, the resort kicked it off with World Tennis Day on March 7th. There was an exhibition match between two resident pros, right before the highly anticipated Tennis Tournament.
In addition to this, Natalia Vikhlyantseva and Daryl Monfils, two tennis pros, will be hosting host complimentary tennis clinics for a few lucky guests between March 10 and 14th.
International Women's Day at Amilla started off with morning yoga and meditation session before a Ladies’ Lunch at Emperor Beach Club. Then, Maldivian fashion designer, Raidha Shafeeg, revealed her latest collection, and guests were treated to talks by visiting practitioner, Vandana and visiting Style Guru, Kat Farmer.
In-house entertainers showed off their aerial, dancing, and balancing skills before a buffet of treats from the resort's Wellness Your Way menus along with Champagne donated by York Trading were served to the guests.
Some updates for the resort's Easter event, 'The Secret Garden' include back entertainment duo, Des and Zoie O’Connor, as well as new performers. New performers include a renowned Maldivian sand artist, Lia, who will be weaving the story of The Secret Garden along with Maldivian folk tales into her live shows during dinner times.
She will also be hosting sand art workshops to teach guests the delicate skill required for the practice from April 4th to the 24th.
For global Recycling day, which the resort will be marking on March 18th, they are going to open a brand new waste management area, 'UNdo the Harm' or 'The UN' for short. This area will allow the resort to reduce their waste and will improve their recycling capabilities.
In addition to this, the resort will be opening a processing center called 'The Nut'. Don't worry, we laughed too. But it isn't what you think it is. It will allow the resort to process the bounty of the 2,500 coconut trees adorning the island, with coconut oil, milk, coir rope, and much more.
Later on that same day, the Indian Festival of Colors, Holi, will be celebrated with organic, plant-based, and sustainable colors. It will be happening in a special area that will be set aside for the high jinks during their cocktail event. Pallavi, the resident Bollywood dance specialist, also has some tricks up her sleeve for this event.
So with all that being said, it's enough to convince us to want to go and see the resort, why don't you do it on our behalf?
