The Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) attended the International Media Marketplace (IMM) 2023 held in Berlin, Germany on 6th March 2023. Organized by Travelmedia, IMM Germany makes highlights annually as the most attended global network event in the world, bringing high-profile journalists, editors, influencers, and broadcasters working in the travel industry in the German-speaking region under one roof.

MMPRC participated in the event alongside 100+ exhibiting companies and roughly 200 media, making this gathering the ideal platform to showcase the Maldives as the ultimate preferred holiday destination to audiences. As such, MMPRC used this opportunity to shed light on the diverse experiences visitors can enjoy at the destination while providing the latest updates and happenings in the Maldivian tourism industry.

Furthermore, the cooperation also utilized the platform to seek valuable market contacts which would be useful in planning out potential future collaborations. They also hosted pre-scheduled meetings with several key figures and networked with prominent travel trade partners and media partaking at the event. This month, MMPRC also participated in ITB Berlin 2023 as well after a three-year hiatus due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The German market is ranked as one of the lucrative markets for the Maldives, contributing the 5th greatest number of arrival figures as of 28th February 2023. Given its importance, MMPRC has been holding and partaking in various activities in the market to boost arrival numbers further and increase destination presence in the region. This includes carrying out social media & joint marketing campaigns, destination e-learning programmes, advertising campaigns with high-end print media as well as familiarization trips, roadshows, and participation in fairs such as ITB Berlin 2023.
