The Maldives Reaches A 100,000 Reasons Why You Should Travel Here

Saturday 12th of December 2020

Indeed, it was very rude for a pandemic to unexpectedly interrupt your dream vacay. While countries around the world were dealing with much bigger problems, devastating statistics and results, as soon as the situation improved and there was a ray of sunshine, all we needed was a break. And guess where most of you chose to escape to?

When the destination first lifted its borders to the world in July, it seemed a little impossible to achieve the target set. A hundred thousand in around 5 months? In a pandemic? Not so realistic? But the predictions were true that people were searching for a safe place to go on a vacation, a place where they won’t have a compromise their safety but also don’t miss the fun before this year ends. In fact, the most searched destination in the U.S. was the Maldives, which received 18,100 searches during the stay-at-home order as a result of COVID-19.

It’s not a new topic of why Maldives is one of the safest places in a situation like this. The one island one resort concept enabling it to naturally social distance is the biggest factor to why this is a safe haven. But let’s go beyond that because there are several reasons why people have chosen to discover the Maldives and it’s not just the geography, offers and irresistible festival schedules by resorts and hotels.

“We were really worried prior to our trip on this matter, and we can only say we have never seen such a professional place dealing with COVID19 measurements. We were very few in the resort at that time, and all the staff always kept the social distancing, wore masks all the time and had disinfectant all over the place. They are trying hard to use cloth masks that their staff can comfortably wear all day to reduce their impact on the environment,” read a review by Luis and Elena on their honeymoon at Vilamendhoo. Similarly, some chose to travel because of the flexibility in booking and free PCR testing.

So tell us, what’s stopping you?
