Housing Development Corporation has announced that restaurants and cafes will no longer be able to locate on Hulhumale beaches.
The beach is to be developed to a peaceful place where people come to relax. Apart from benches and chairs, a running track is also to be developed.
The reclaimed island neighboring the Capital City of Male is a popular destination among tourists, with several beach hotels, guesthouses and a wide array of watersports. In fact, Hulhumale is the very first city emerging as a smart city in Maldives.
A transport master plan has been developed in the island, which includes smart city components such as Smart Traffic Management Systems, Automatic Surveillance, ERP systems promising efficient and public transportation systems.
As Hulhumale undergoes huge transformation, this will bring significant improvements to the tourism industry, boosting both local and international tourism.
