The Social Media Competition For Visit Maldives Storytellers’ Conference 2023 Commences

Saturday 4th of March 2023

Maldives Marketing & Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) has kicked off the social media competition for Visit Maldives Storytellers’ Conference 2023 which is held from 27th February to 25th March 2023. Through this competition, 50+ participants will be selected for the conference and will be awarded free trips to the Maldives.

Due to be hosted from 30th May to 2nd June 2023, the Storytellers’ Conference will bring together 50+ content creators from different parts of the world to ‘Weave Your Maldivian Story’ at the largest conglomeration of travel writers, journalists, bloggers, influencers and media experts at the Maldivian destination. Visit Maldives is inviting them to experience and discover the island nation and express their thoughts through photos, videos, articles, and social media posts to wider audiences. Those who are going to be featured in the conference will be selected through the social media competition that is ongoing at the moment.

CROSSROADS Maldives

Designed under the ‘Redefining MICE’ concept, the conference will take place at the powdery-white beach of CROSSROADS Maldives. Partakers can delight in riveting views of blue stretching far as the eye can see while digging their toes in the coral sand, under the shade of a signatory palm tree. Several intriguing discussions will be held at the conference, led by famed international storytellers. Content covered at these gatherings includes trending hot topics such as sustainable tourism efforts, social media's role in marketing promotions, etc.

On the sidelines of the conference, attendees can enjoy breakout sessions where they can first-hand take a glimpse at the various offerings in the Maldives and explore the culture & heritage, sustainability and gastronomy in the archipelago. During the conference, different pop-up stalls will be displayed on the island, showcasing authentic Maldivian products and the talents of local artisans. To conclude the event, a special gala dinner will be hosted to honour the attendees at the CROSSROADS Maldives Beach Club, complete with live music.

Watersports

The winners of the social media competition will also be getting the opportunity to immerse themselves in the beauty, unique experiences and celebrated hospitality in the Maldives. They can choose to enjoy the best of the destination by picking a preferred choice from the range of activities provided. Some of the choices offered include snorkelling with whale sharks and manta rays, trying various watersports, culinary tours, island-hopping adventures and sandbank picnics.

These sideline experiences will be carried out in 8 pristine regions of the Maldives, each characterised by its distinctive features, experiences and activities. The 8 atolls are: Baa Atoll, Dhaalu Atoll, Laamu Atoll, Ari Atoll, Lhaviyani & Noonu Atoll, Gnaviyani Atoll, Male’ Atoll and Seenu Atoll. Those who wish to be invited to this conference, are required to create a unique piece of content portraying their content creation skills while answering the question ‘What is your dream vacation in the Maldives?’ on their social media accounts. Afterwards, they can fill in and submit the application form to http://storytellers.visitmaldives.com/ as per the stated guidelines. Visit Maldives will review the submissions and select the top 50+ to attend the conference, where they will have the opportunity to network with industry professionals and experience the beauty of the Maldives firsthand.
