Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) has launched a marketing campaign with Thailand’s Bangkok Post to exhibit the unique sights and experiences offered at the Sunny Side of Life destination. The campaign will run from July-August 2023 and will help in strengthening the Maldives’ brand presence and visibility in the Thai market. This will eventually help to raise arrival figures from the Southeast Asian market.
Bangkok Post is a forefront English-medium mass publication based in Thailand. The magazine generates a monthly audience of more than 2 million readers; therefore, this campaign is expected to benefit from its wide reach in the home country. Moreover, it also aligns with MMPRC’s marketing strategy to further augment the Maldives brand in the Thai market.
Thailand forms an important source market in the South East Asian (SEA) region. Rebounding from the pandemic, the SEA market has proved to be a promising and potential outlet for the Maldives tourism industry. Given its importance, many activities have been planned for the market and conducted throughout the year as well.
The Maldives destination has been promoted at major travel fairs such as MATTA 2023 in Malaysia and ADEX Ocean Mission 2023 in Singapore so far. More events are in the pipeline for this market for the rest of 2023 too including a Media Campaign, Maldives Roadshow in South East Asia, and attending the NATAS Holiday 2023 and ITB Asia 2023 fairs.
