At the end of 28 May 2020, the total spending towards COVID-19 efforts stood at MVR 892.3 million, a 2.9 % increase from the week before, according to the Weekly COVID-19 Spending Report by Ministry of Finance.
In terms of week-on-week spending, National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) and IGMH were the two largest contributors towards COVID-19 efforts. Over half of NDMA’s spending this week was on medical equipment and consumables. Concurrently, IGMH procured medical consumables worth MVR 4.9 million.
In whole, Supplies & Requisites for Service Provision (predominantly Medical Consumables) increased by MVR 12.5 million, totaling MVR 447.8 million while Capital Equipment, primarily composed of medical equipment, increased by MVR 7.7 million, reaching a total of MVR 177.2 million. At the end of this period, 53.5% of total spending was committed-spending.
