At the end of 14th May 2020, total spending on COVID-19 related spending stood at MVR 873.3 million, which is a 7.3% increase from the week before. National Disaster Management Authority and Ministry of Health continue as key agencies spending to constrain the adverse effects of the virus.
The week-on-week increase of MVR 59.1 million is primarily linked to increase spending by NDMA on Medical Consumables, and Supplies & Requisites. The agency contributed to the 32% surge in the latter via spending on requisites related to COVID-19 operations.
The total spending on Supplies and Requisites for Service Provision was MVR 428.1 million, while Capital Equipment cost MVR 192.2 million and Grants, Contributions and Subsidies cost MVR 111.3 million.
