Traditional Bokkura- The Nautilus Signature Arrival Experience

You begin creating memories at the 5 star Nautilus Maldives resort in the Maldives’ stunning Baa Atoll, a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, the moment your seaplane lands.

You’ll be greeted as you disembark and driven by limousine to the comfort of a private VIP lounge, where immigration and other processes will be taken care on your behalf as you relax in the comforts of the Lounge. From the lounge, you’ll be ushered onto a seaplane for a seamless transfer to this slice of freedom in Baa Atoll. The entire process from the VIP lounge to The Nautilus takes a mere 30 minutes.

Step out of the plane and feel the salty breeze on your face as you’re surrounded by nothing but the beautiful sea. This is the moment your Nautilus experience starts, with the signature arrival experience (dependent on weather conditions) aboard a traditional bokkura, delivering you directly to the shores of your private beach house. Your personal butler will be there to welcome you. For a truly personal experience, charter your own private seaplane from Malé at one of the finest Baa Atoll resorts.

A Bokkura is the smallest type of boat used in the island nation. The Bokkura usually has a set of oars and was traditionally used for fishing near the reef or to commute between the shore and the anchored fishing or trading vessels especially before there were any jetties in the Maldives. In the past, a Bokkura was compulsory for every Dhoani (boat) owner to embark their Dhoani; because, in those days there were no jetties made in local Maldives islands, and the lagoons are too shallow for a Dhoni to bring closer to the sea shore.
