Udhuhila: Raveo Band’s First Original

Raveo Band has announced the release of their first original ‘Udhuhila’. A song about freedom and appreciating the small things in life. In a world where everything is changing so constantly, take a moment to see and enjoy the world around you. Fly high and reach the sky. It’s about achieving your dreams, whatever it may be.

Udhuhila was born from an idea that came back in 2019, from a friend Mohamed Shah Ahmed. While the band was getting ready for fannugedharin show 2019, he impressed the band with a piece of brilliant lyrics and melody. After his excellent idea was presented, the band waited no longer and shared each other’s creativity in the studio to come up with the song as it is today. Udhuhila, which was performed in fannugathering, got a huge support and a mass amount of requests to record it.

Raveo band was formed in 2015 by Ahmed Jym Niyaz, who has been playing drums since he was very young. As of today, 5 likeminded individuals, sharing the same vision and dream make up the band: Jymniyaz (drums), Zolo (lead vocalist), Mayiz (bass), huyam (female lead vocalist) and Haisham Thawfeeg (lead guitarist). RAVEO has become more than just a band, a family.

The band had a successful journey, which started with small gigs that led to an opportunity of a lifetime to work with Meyna Hassan for a New Year show. They performed at events such as school fairs, hithaany shows and small charity events. After sometime, they moved to coffee shops and TV shows and fannugathering, which had made a huge difference in their journey. After the band started a career as full time musicians, they decided to take on resort music while working on original materials and playing as many shows in Male’.

In the future, Raveo plans on creating more original music, and will kick-start their works for the album as soon as the situation in the country improves. The band aims to inspire today’s youth in creating and introduce new good music and appreciating the music of yesterday where our elders perfected their craft. Their hope is to be able to play at international shows and host their very own concert and atoll tours.

Udhuhila is scheduled to release on 16th May and will be available on Apple music, Lavafoshi, Baiskoafu, Shazam, Spotify, SoundCloud, Youtube and also Ticktok .
