The title was granted by competing against other tropical and cosmopolitan destinations including Canada, Ecuador, Fiji, Japan, Namibia, Seychelles, South Africa, South Korea and the Caribbean.
As a leading figure in gastronomical travel magazines, UK’s Food & Travel Magazine has so far hosted 7 international editions and has been running for the past 25 years. The magazine became a sensation with readers ever since its inception and is now publicly acclaimed in the travel and hospitality industry. Known to recognize the crème de la crème’ of the food & beverage industry in the tourism sector, the anticipated Reader’s Award confers accolades in 25 distinctive categories.
Ranked among the top source markets for the Maldives, the British market drew in 179,309 arrivals by the end of 2022, finishing in 3rd place in terms of arrival numbers. MMPRC has taken significant strides to maintain destination momentum in the previous year, including numerous marketing activities targeted for the market. This included participation in major fairs such as WTM London 2022, destination roadshows, high-profile joint marketing campaigns with industry partners and stakeholders and much more.
