Velaa Private Island, one of the top resorts in the Maldives, gifts 10,000 test kits, ventilators and more items that are needed by the country to battle with the COVID19 pandemic. An official of the resort informed that the aid by the resort will arrive on 2nd May and it is planned to be delivered on two private jets with two owners of the resort, Jiri Smejc and Daniel Kretinsky.
The aid comprises of 10,000 test kits, 5 ventilators, 100000 face masks, 200 respirators and 500 PPE kit. Daniel Křetínský, who is a Czech businessman, lawyer, the chief executive officer and 94% owner of Energetický a průmyslový holding, the largest energy group in Central Europe and also the president of football club AC Sparta Prague, was diagnosed with COVID19 in March. However, it has been confirmed that he has recovered fully.
Further, it has been informed that along with the owners, helpers will also be arriving. These helpers will be staying at the resort. During a time resorts are temporarily closed down and many employees have been unfairly sent on no-pay leaves, Velaa Private Island offered their employees additional assistance along with their salary.
