Velaa Private Island Is Looking Forward To Share The Magic Of ‘Opera Meets Broadway’ With You

Velaa Private Island has announced an exciting musical event at the luxurious retreat – where Opera will meet Broadway. World-renowned tenor, Dimitri Pittas, will take the stage at the beach of Athiri, and lead a performance alongside opera singer and Broadway actress Leah Edwards, in a magical evening of song. The pair will be accompanied by San Francisco Opera’s Maureen Zoltek on piano for the performance.

Dimitri Pittas is one of the most spectacular artists in the international area of opera – and in this capacity he had appeared on leading opera stages throughout North America and the Europe including the Bavarian State Opera, the Vienna State Opera and the Royal Opera House Covent Garden and the Canadian Opera Company.

Leah Edwards has captivated the audiences with her many talents – an actress, a singer, dancer and a pianist – but moreover, equally gifted and experience in each of the crafts. She has forged a unique career path establish herself as a multitalented performer of complexity and depth.

Pianist Dr. Maureen Zolket boasts of a diverse career working alongside leading vocalists, instrumentalists, orchestras and opera companies across the United States. Dr. Zoltek presently serves as an assistant conductor, vocal coach and orchestral keyboardist on the staff of San Francisco Opera and as a member of the Vocal Institute Faculty as the Music Academy of the West in Santa Barbara.
