Summer Island Maldives hosts a virtual Eid celebration, with a Bodu Beru show and a special song broadcast on the resort’s social media channels. The resort is well-known for its Eid celebrations, a festival to mark the end of Holy Ramadan.
Over the past years, the resort’s Maldivian staff performed traditional processions, dances and games, such as Bodu mas, Koadi, Maali, Dhandi jehun, and Dhafi negun, in addition to Bodu beru. These cultural celebrations have attracted tourists from around the world.
“This year we miss our guests, especially the children visiting us and enjoying Eid. Even though we don’t have any guests, we are still celebrating Eid. We made a special video song and had a live Bodu beru show from 5-6pm on Eid day. Eid Mubarak to everyone,” said the Resort Manager Mari Shareef.
Situated in North Male' Atoll, Summer Island Maldives is 35 km from Velana International Airport, and takes 15 minutes by seaplane and 45 minutes by speedboat to reach the island. Sited in the center of the Maldives archipelago, it straddles the path of the sun from east to west, ensuring you warm days and brilliant sunsets all year-round.
