Visit Maldives Collaborates With Qatar Airways To Promote Maldives

Visit Maldives and Qatar Airways have launched a collaborative marketing effort to promote the Maldives in Europe, the Middle East, and the United States. Qatar Airways is the national airline of the state of Qatar. It will run from July 2021 until June 2022.

The year-long campaign seeks to increase brand awareness and promote the Maldives as a safe haven for all tourists in the worldwide market.

Qatar Airways will market the Maldives as a leading and safe haven destination to customers using channels like as a tactical campaign, newsletter, and the use of gorgeous Maldivian landscape on the Qatar Airways homepage. familiarization trips will also be conducted as part of the campaign with Qatar Airways. A mix of digital and offline activities will be used in the campaign.

The campaign with Qatar Airways will promote the Maldives’ tourism offerings through a wide range of events. The Maldives' geographically dispersed islands, the one-island-one-resort model, and the safety strict measures in place will all be highlighted, ensuring that the Maldives remains one of the safest places in the world.

Visit Maldives is running significant worldwide initiatives with SkyScanner, TripAdvisor, and Expedia to promote the Maldives as a top-of-mind destination for tourists all over the world.

When the Maldives reopened its borders to foreign tourists on July 15, 2020, Qatar Airways was the first airline to land. Qatar Airways doubled the number of flights to the Maldives beginning July 1st, demonstrating the airline's trust in the Maldives as a top tourist destination.

The Maldives have received approximately 528,157 visitors as of July 7, 2021. With almost half a million visitors, the Maldives is well on its way to resuming pre-pandemic visitation levels.
