The Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC/Visit Maldives) is showcasing the Maldives’ luxury travel experiences at the International Luxury Travel Market (ILTM) Cannes 2024, which runs from December 2nd to 5th at the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès. With the event kicking off with the Global Forum, this year’s ILTM will see 12 representatives from seven top Maldives-based companies, including Alila Kothaifaru Maldives, Amilla Fushi, Bliss Maldives, Finolhu Baa Atoll Maldives, JA Manafaru, The Nautilus Maldives, and Villa Resorts.
ILTM Cannes is one of the most prestigious luxury travel trade shows globally, attracting high-profile travel advisors, luxury brands, and key players from the industry. The event offers an exceptional platform for networking, business meetings, and educational sessions, and is a prime opportunity for Visit Maldives to further engage with the luxury travel market.
As a top luxury destination, the Maldives is renowned for its unparalleled offerings, from exquisite resorts to exclusive liveaboard experiences, alongside its stunning natural beauty. The Maldives’ participation in ILTM Cannes 2024 is part of a broader effort to attract affluent travellers, strengthen its luxury positioning, and highlight its diverse, premium experiences.
France, as the 7th largest source market for the Maldives, plays a significant role in this strategy. With over 1.6 million travellers from France arriving in the Maldives by October 2024, Visit Maldives is focused on enhancing its presence in the French market. Through participation in ILTM Cannes and ongoing marketing campaigns like the Discover Maldives Webinar Series, the Maldives aims to attract even more French tourists in the future.
This year, the Maldives has earned international recognition, securing the prestigious titles of World’s Leading Destination for the fifth consecutive year and World’s Leading Green Destination for the first time. These awards underscore the Maldives’ prominent position in global tourism and its enduring appeal as a luxury haven for travellers worldwide.
