Visit Maldives Shines Bright at IFTM Top Resa 2023 in Paris

The Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC), under the banner of Visit Maldives, captured the hearts of visitors at IFTM Top Resa 2023 in Paris, France. This significant tourism event, boasting over 30,000 attendees, is a comprehensive trade show encompassing diverse travel segments including business, leisure, and MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions). The event, held from October 3rd to 5th, 2023 at Porte de Versailles, Paris, provided an excellent platform for MMPRC and 28 co-exhibitors from the industry.

Participation in this event aligns with MMPRC's strategies for the French market, aiming to surpass pre-pandemic arrival numbers by promoting unique experiences and segments of the Maldives. The engagement at IFTM Top Resa 2023 not only reinforced the Maldives' brand in the French market but also facilitated industry partners in showcasing their products and services, fostering invaluable networking and potential collaborations.

The stand activities at the trade show featured digital interactive kiosks for easy exploration of Maldives' tourism offerings, complemented by social media engagement and surveys. Attendees were invited to immerse themselves in Maldivian tradition and culture by trying on 'libaas' and 'feyli' props or savoring local delicacies. Additionally, press packs distributed at the stand offered comprehensive information about the destination and co-exhibiting partners.

In 2022, Maldives welcomed a total of 48,341 arrivals from France, securing the country's position as the 8th leading source market for the Maldives. As of September 2023, over 37,688 travelers from France have explored the wonders of the Maldives.

MMPRC remains dedicated to strengthening the Maldives' presence in the French market through a holistic marketing approach. Earlier this year, successful campaigns were conducted with prestigious entities like Vogue and Surf Session. The Maldives will also be participating in upcoming travel trade shows, including ILTM Cannes 2023, to ensure its continued reign as the preferred holiday destination in the French market.
