Maldives Marketing & Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC / Visit Maldives) has signed an advertising and branded content agreement with CNN International Commercial to promote the Maldives to a global audience through persuasive storytelling, following two incredibly successful global campaigns with CNN.

This CNN campaign will run from June 2022 till the end of October 2022. In the last two years, MMPRC's initiatives with CNN have focused on promoting local talents, artists, and stories on a worldwide scale. The success of these advertisements has encouraged the amazing marketeer to continue working with CNN to promote the Maldives using local talent.

The campaign's goal is to showcase the Maldives as a destination that goes beyond the sun, beach, and sea, diving into the country's rich history, legacy, and strands of Maldivian society and lifestyle. The amazing beauty and wonder of the Maldives' natural surroundings will be integrated into the stories. The content created for this campaign is aimed towards a worldwide audience.

Mr. Thoyyib Mohamed, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of MMPRC, and Mr. Abhijeet Dhar, Director Sales, South Asia, CNN International Commercial, inked the agreement at MMPRC headquarters on May 25th, 2022.

According to the CEO & Managing Director of MMPRC, Mr. Thoyyib highlighted that CNN has played a key role in marketing the Maldives through immersive narrative in recent years. He stated that the campaign will magnify the tale of the Maldives' 50 years of successful tourism using a combination of storytelling with emotional resonance and cultural significance, in order to elevate travelers' perceptions of the Maldives.

Our campaign is a compelling combination of rich storytelling, adept branded content and unparalleled engagement that CNN has with its audience.” Expressing his enthusiasm over the collaboration is the Director Sales South Asia, CNN International Commercial, Abhijeet Dhar. “This year we’ve also brought to fore a brand-new immersive story-telling experience for our audiences to showcase the hidden gems of Maldives that are beautiful and undiscovered to our audiences across the globe.” He further expressed.

Furthermore, under the premise of 'Rediscover Paradise,' CNNIC's global brand studio ‘Create’ will produce branded content. Travelers will be drawn to this production because of its emotion, resonance, and relatability, and it will allow them to rediscover paradise. CNN will produce material using a variety of methods, including television shows, internet films and articles, social media campaigns, photo galleries, and audio tours. This campaign will air alongside new upcoming travel and leisure programming about the Maldives that CNN is generating for its TV and digital platforms.
