World Health Organization (WHO) has donated 10,000 test kits and personal protective equipment (PPE) to the Republic of Maldives to help the island nation in their battle with the COVID19 pandemic.
Following this, Minister of Health Abdullah Ameen had contacted the representative of the Maldives to WHO, Dr Arvind Mathur, and acknowledged the support received by the country and expressed his gratitude.
A total 21,000 test kits have been donated by the World Health Organization to the Maldives, including this contribution. The Organization further informed that in the future, additional test kits would be gifted to the country. The PPE kit included gown, face masks, gloves as well as face shields.
On 15th March, World Health Organisation donated 5,000 test kits for the novel coronavirus and earlier donated 1,000 test kits to the country. On 6th April, a further 5000 COVID-19 test kits were donated to the Maldives.
