7-Day Mandatory Quarantine for All International Passengers to India

Due to the rapid spread of the Covid-19 variant, Omicron, starting 11th January, 00:01am GMT +5:30 hours (India time), the South Asian country of India will be enforcing all of its International visitors to undergo a mandatory 7-day home quarantine.

Travelers are required to submit a factual information form in self-declaration form on an online portal, upload a negative Covid-19 RT-PCR report within 72hrs prior to the journey, and furthermore, each traveler will submit the declaration with respect to authenticity of the report.

In addition, travelers will be subject to random testing and on the 8th day of arrival to India, they will be required to take RT-PCR test, upload the results to the online portal once more, and if negative, self-monitor their held for the next 7 days. However, if they test positive, their samples will be sent to genomic testing and they shall be managed at an isolation facility and treated as per normal standard protocol, which includes contact tracing.

Hence why, all travelers are advised to follow safety guidelines, such as regularly washing their hands or using sanitizer, wearing a mask and maintaining social distancing, before, during and after travel.
