Aasandha made an announcement that Maldivians living abroad in Malaysia, those who are registered to the Merana scheme will be able to get services under the scheme in hospitals and clinics in Malaysia. Before this statement, only those hospitals and clinics listed by Aasandha provided services under this scheme. However, due to COVID pandemic, precautionary measures implemented by Malaysia prohibits travel to places farther than 10 km from residence.
Hence, these Maldivians will be able to visit any hospital (whether enlisted by Aasandha or not) that is 10km from their place of stay and receive the services under Merana scheme. Further, they are to submit the written documents and bills of the service.
Aasandha Company introduced Merana scheme for Maldivians living in India, Sri Lanka and Malaysia. Maldivians living in these three countries who are registered for the Merana scheme will receive financial support under the scheme.
