On 14th March, private hospital ADK unveiled an online flu clinic that offers online consultations for patients exhibiting flu-like symptoms via video calls. This is essential during these times when people are in lockdown and it’s unsafe to step out. If you have a fever, cough or a cold, here’s how to get an online medical consultation.
The clinic is open from 8 am to 8pm and patients are required to call 1440 for appointments. You will be issued a digital memo for your consultation. Patients should provide their Viber or Skype numbers if it’s different from their phone number. Queue numbers can be checked via AskADK platforms on Viber, telegram and Messenger. After the appointment has been made, the flu team will contact the patient via video call, during which patient identification will be done and then will proceed with consultation.
ADK informs that a medical consultation with a direct visit to a doctor is very different from an online consultation because a detailed examination is not possible via online. Online consultation can be of value in obtaining detailed history, providing detailed information, guidance on safe home care with prescribing over the counter medications and discuss plan for future course of action.
According to the clinic’s daily update on 19th April, there has been total 980 online consultations. Total number of people with Acute Respiratory Infection symptoms like cough during 2020 so far is 7432 patients.
