Vakkaru Maldives, which was recently named the Leading Resort in the Indian Ocean in the World Travel Awards 2021 and the Favorite Family Hotel (International category) in the Condé Nast Traveller Middle East Readers' Choice Awards 2021, combines luxurious accommodations with a variety of facilities and experiences for the ultimate beach vacation.
This festive season, Vakkaru Maldives will welcome two renowned sports and wellness specialists to the island. Guests can now supplement their vacation experience with innovative therapies from wellness practitioner Domingos Folgado and individualized coaching from tennis pro Jarek Grela during their exclusive residencies at the private island sanctuary, in addition to spa visits and snorkeling excursions!
Welcoming back to the luxurious getaway for a THIRD time, due to popular demand, Domingos is a health consultant, therapist, acupuncture expert, and certified personal trainer based in Budapest. He is trained in Naturopathy, Therapeutic Massage, Personal Training, Pilates, Clinical and Cosmetic Acupuncture, and KORE, among other modalities.
He combines his diverse skillset to deliver an innovative integrated solution tailored to the needs of guests by combining personal training with holistic therapy. Domingos will be in the island from December 13th, 2021 to February 22nd, 2022.
From December 15th, 2021, to March 15th, 2022, tennis pro Jarek Grela brings his extensive experience as a player and sparring partner to the resort as part of the Tipsarevic Luxury Tennis experience. It was founded by Janko Tipsarevic, a former World No. 8 tennis player, and it invites some of the world's best tennis players to Vakkaru for short-term residencies.
Jarek has considerable experience coaching in a variety of nations, including Poland, Mauritius, Bulgaria, Serbia, and Montenegro, and is certified as an instructor by two major tennis groups, the International Tennis Federation and Professional Tennis Registry. During Jarek's stay, Vakkaru guests will have the chance to participate in tennis clinics and tutorials taught by Jarek.
Those courageous enough can even take on him in the "Beat the Pro" challenge on the resort's renowned cobalt blue courts, which were recently resurfaced by the same company that built the Australian Open's courts. Guests who defeat Jarek at his game earn a free court session, or if they lose, they must pay the cost of a one-hour tennis instruction.
