Since the first positive case was reported in the Maldives at Kuredu Island Resort on 7th March, the total number of cases in the country has risen to 278. According to the Ministry of Health, there are 1,289 people in quarantine and 285 people in isolation. There have been 17 recoveries, making the recovery rate of 6.12%. HPA’s update on 29th April at 21:30 revealed that within the last 24 hours, there were 27 new cases.
The country’s first local transmission was reported on the 15th of April. As of 29th April, there have been 258 cluster cases. The nationality of the patients are as follow:

The total lockdown period exercised at Greater Male’ Region has been extended by another 14 days. The decision was made by Director General of Public Health Maimoona Aboobakuru and will become effective on 30th April – the initial lockdown deadline.
HPA has also lanched TraceEkee app. TraceEkee supports the efforts to mitigate community spread of COVID-19 in the Maldives through community-driven detailed contact tracing. By using BlueTooth signals, the app detects encounters with other TraceEkee users and stores that data in encrypted form on your phone. Available on Play Store and App Store.
