Development Of Hanimaadhoo International Airport Open For Bidding

Ministry of Economic Development opens the opportunity for bidding in regards to the development of a modern Hanimaadhoo International Airport. The shortlisted candidates by India Exim Bank can now bid until the end of January 25, 2022.

The project that is set to take place under the funding from India Exim Bank includes a development of 2.46km of runway, modern terminal with a capacity of 1.3 million passengers and other features required to operate an international terminal.

With this new development in place, A320 flights with 737 series can operate directly, making another successful international airport in Maldives.

The target to modernly develop the northern region of Maldives is a big target to achieve from the government. With the new international airport in place, it will open up opportunities to further develop the ever-growing tourism in the country.
