Do Your Part In Coral Growth Foot-Print With Sheraton Maldives

Sheraton Maldives Full Moon Resort & Spa invites guests to participate in the coral fragment-planting activity that is set to take place as part of the ‘Celebrate the Community’ global campaign taken initiative by the Sheraton Group of Companies around the globe.

The campaign is aimed to celebrate the communal spirit and invited guests to reconnect and share experiences, reinforcing the brand’s commitment to be ‘Where the world comes together’. Sheraton Maldives Full Moon Resort & Spa invites guests in an effort to promote reef habitats and generate new corals. The resort has teamed up with Reefscapers; a coral propagation organization with marine biologists and consultants that are appointed by the government of Maldives as custodians of the coral colonies in Gulhi Falhu Lagoon. The lagoon was slated to be destroyed as part of a reclamation project.

The activity is led by experts, offering a hands-on experience for the participants while also providing an alternative business to the 250 inhabitants whose sole previous source of income was fishing.
