As part of the safety measures, Health Protection Agency (HPA) of Maldives, has made it mandatory from 10th September onwards, for all tourists and short-term visitors to present a negative PCR certificate on-arrival in Maldives. The said PCR test must be conducted within a maximum of 72 hours prior to departure to Maldives. Ministry of Health also answered some of the most frequently asked questions by tourists, right from before arriving to Maldives and after arriving.

Here are some of the requirements needed to be done by tourists:

• Tourists must have a confirmed booking at a registered tourist facility

• On-arrival visas are still available for all tourists, and visa extensions are available for any long-stay holidaymakers.

• The Traveler Health Declaration (THD) must be filled in and submitted by all visitors twice – 24 hours before your flight to the Maldives and once more before you depart from the Maldives.

• Only those who show COVID-19 like symptoms will be tested

• All tourists will undergo non-intrusive temperature checks and screening on arrival to the Maldives and may also be chosen for a random COVID-19 PCR test by Maldivian Health Authorities. This is a voluntary test.

• All tourists are required to wear face masks at the airport, during domestic travel and in all enclosed public spaces. Hand sanitization, hygiene facilities and physical distancing guidelines are also available throughout the airport.

• All tourist facilities will be entitled to medical services, stock of PPE and a COVID-19 safety manager.

• To ensure a safer holiday experience, all visitors are encouraged to install the Maldives contact tracing app "TraceEkee" before arrival into the country
